A small plane suffered an inflight mechanical problem and landed on a canal bank in Mesa this morning, Mesa Fire and Medical Department said.
“The pilot was forced to land on the canal bank near Gilbert and Main,” MFMD said April 21. “There were no injuries to the occupants in the plane or anyone on the ground. The plane landed safely and without damage. Fire and police are on scene to coordinate the recovery of the plane.”
The information from Mesa Fire and Medical Department was provided by Mesa Police Detective J. Macias, public information officer.
The plane took off from Falcon Field Airport in Mesa and was scheduled to return there, Marrisa Ramírez-Ramos, MFMD public information officer, said.
