Sun City West Daughters honor Surprise JROTC student

National Defense Chair Carolyn Meade and Regent Nancy Nixon, of the Sun City West Estrella Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, presented the NSDAR JROTC certificate, bronze medal and a scholarship check to Joel Linde during the Dysart High School JROTC awards ceremony April 19.
Sgt. Jimmy Marose and Sgt. Jonathan Linde are in charge of the Dysart High School JROTC program.
This award can be presented to any high school or junior college junior or senior who is enrolled in JROTC programs of the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marine Corps.
To receive the bronze medal, Linde displayed outstanding ability and achievement by demonstrating loyalty and patriotism and earning a record of military and scholastic achievement during his participation in the JROTC program.
He will studying pre-law at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, with his ultimate goal being a law (JD) degree.
