Sun City West's SPAM celebrates National Scrapbooking Day

Members of Scrapbooking, Papercrafts, & More gathered to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day May 4 at the Beardsley center clubroom.

The morning kicked off with a hands-on digital scrapbooking demonstration presented by Tammie Frazier. Using a laptop computer projected onto a screen, Frazier demonstrated how to use a special scrapbooking program to create customized page layouts in which digital family photos could then be inserted.

Throughout the day, two creative workshops were offered where participants hand-crafted a chipboard memory book or a photo folio book with alternating folding pages; both classes were taught by club president Lynne Marion. Members were also free to work on personal projects and hand-crafted cards.

The club also provided a lunch and a rubber stamp, sticker and embellishments exchange.

Learn how to make greeting cards, papercrafts and scrapbooks (traditional or digital) by joining SPAM meets in Beardsley’s Agave Room on Thursdays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m.-5 p.m.).
