Although the Sun City West Sportsman’s Club’s next monthly meeting won’t be until Sept. 16, the beginning of the 2024-25 season, the hiking group continues with weekly hikes through the summer.
Firebird hiking season began May 1 (meet at 5:45 a.m., leave at 6 a.m.) and continues to Sept. 30. Meet in area 14 of the R.H.Johnson parking lot to sign liability waivers and pair up drivers and riders. Michael Anenen is the hike coordinator and communicator. Anyone interested in the summer hikes can email manenen@sbcglobal.net to be on his hiking contact list. He will send emails each week detailing the upcoming hike. Anenen and several other volunteers will lead the C and B hikes.
The SCW Masters Swimmers continue to have workouts 7-8:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the R.H. Johnson pool. During the months of June, July and August, workouts continue, with experienced Master Swimmers present to help and answer questions. Any resident interested in swimming is welcome to attend.
Visit sportsman.scwclubs.com for more information on additional activities and membership.
