Pro golfer Matt McCarty, a Scottsdale resident and native, on the hunt to get his PGA tour card has announced his support to the local nonprofit, Cancer Support Community Arizona. As part of his Heart Under Par for Cancer initiative, Matt has pledged $10 for every stroke he is under par in each tournament he competes. Last month, he donated $1500 to the organization to support the mission.
CSCAZ is a cause that is close to Matt’s heart, as his mom is a breast cancer survivor. He hopes to give back to families that are enduring similar struggles to the ones he’s faced.
CSCAZ provides emotional and social support for families impacted by cancer by offering more than 100+ free programs each month including support groups, social activities, nutritional counseling, educational seminars, and more. These programs are provided at no-cost to those impacted from cancer, from patients and survivors to friends and family.
