Ride the waves this week in Tempe

A week of Winter Waves begins Wednesday at the pool in  Tempe's Kiwanis Park Recreation Center, 6111 S. All-America Way.

The 3-foot waves at the indoor, heated pool will be ready for the fun 1-5 p.m. Dec. 27-30, according to a release. 

In addition to the waves, there will be complimentary hot cocoa and cookies, a chance to write thank you letters to Santa as well as the following theme days:

Wednesday, Dec. 27 | Ugly Sweater
Thursday, Dec. 28 | Throwback Thursday
Friday, Dec. 29 | Winter Olympics and Canned Food Drive
Saturday, Dec. 30 | New Year’s Eve Countdown

Admission is $5 for ages 2-12 and $7 for ages 13-plus, children under 2 are free. Tube rentals start at $5 and life jacket rentals are offered free of charge. The Snack Shack will be open for food and drink purchases.
