Tempe Union bands will play under the stars

Posted

Bands from the Tempe Union High School District are getting the chance to play for the community.

Students from Corona del Sol, Desert Vista, Marcos de Niza and Mountain Pointe High Schools will all play during Music Under the Stars. They will also be joined by professional musicians rom Arizona Wind Symphony and Tempe Winds.

The event will take place Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Tempe Diablo Stadium, the spring training home of the Los Angeles Angels. The stadium is located at 2200 W. Alameda Drive in Tempe.

The free event funded by the city’s Community Arts includes admission and parking. Concessions stands and food trucks will be open to purchase food and drinks.

“Tempe is a place where we all have the opportunity to get involved with the arts, whether it be attending performances, signing-up for art classes, or finding inspiration in our galleries and public art,” said Tempe Councilmember Robin Arredondo-Savage. “This is the second year Music Under the Stars will perform at the stadium and it provides yet another way for everyone to enjoy free music in a convenient location.”
