A special screening of "Above the Clouds" comes to Tempe Pollack Cinemas on April 12, at 7 p.m., following the film’s festival run and before it heads to streaming.

"Above the Clouds" is an Asian-led romantic comedy that stars Kahyun Kim and Chris Labadie, who is an Arizona native, according to a press release. The film is also written and directed by Emmy winning producer Jon Hill.

Over the course of one day, Labadie’s character Jay returns to Los Angeles following the death of his father, the release explained. With the help of a stranger, Jay must find a way to navigate his new life while dealing with what happens after his father’s death.

The film has won Best Cinematography at the Asian Film Festival, Best Independent Film and Best Actress at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, and Kahyun Kim took home Best Actress again at the Marina Del Rey Film Festival.
