Tempe resident hosts book signing Nov. 14

Tempe resident and author Jeff Kronenfeld and fellow author David M. Olsen are hosting a special book signing of “Amber Waves of Autumn” at Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

“The Amber Waves of Autumn” is an anthology of short stories by several authors, including Kronenfeld, Olsen, Joyce Carol Oates, Lawrence Block and several others. This is the third installment of Kelp Journal's bestselling, award-winning Beach Noir series, according to a press release.

Kronenfeld's story “Drift” chronicles a beach bum as he runs from a mysterious criminal past, where he and his canine best friend battle a wanna-be shaman for the right to ride an epic wave, the release explained.

He said in the release that he wrote this story after the death of his dog, who Kronenfeld adopted at 18 and traveled with extensively.

"I wrote this story to honor his memory and as a form of catharsis, and I hope that feeling can help others who’ve lost someone close to them,” Kronenfeld said.

Kronenfeld is an award-winning journalist, screenwriter, comic writer and fiction writer who is the assistant editor for the Arizona Capitol Times.  He and the book’s editor David M. Olsen will be hosting Thursday night's event.
