Tempe nonprofit partners with The Walter Hive on holiday initiative for seniors

Posted

The Walter Hive and the Tempe Community Action Agency recently hosted a holiday service event to bring festive cheer to Scottsdale seniors.

A community-focused organization dedicated to fostering creativity and connection through art, The Walter Hive welcomed volunteers and community members to create 60 handcrafted holiday door signs as part of TCAA’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors program, according to a press release.

This initiative provides a special holiday touch to seniors' homes, showing them that their community cares.

Founder and Program Director of The Walter Hive Mary Strawn said in the release that this is more than just a holiday project; it is also a meaningful opportunity to connect with and support the surrounding community.

"We believe in the power of creativity to heal and uplift, and projects like this allow us to share that experience with our neighbors,” Strawn said.

Each 12"x12" sign was designed and laser-cut by The Walter Hive, then decorated and assembled by TCAA volunteers as a heartfelt gift for local seniors. This event highlighted community spirit, creating a memorable experience for all involved, the release stated.
