Tempe neighbors gather April 1 in Kiwanis Park for community celebration

Tempe’s Neighborhood Celebration will take place April 1, a time to bond with neighbors and recognize those who go above and beyond in serving the community.

It is the second year for the event, which will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at Kiwanis Park Fiesta ramadas, 5711 S. All-America Way.

There will be breakfast refreshments, games and an informal awards celebration, according to a release.

The event is free.

This year, residents are asked to bring toiletries for donation to Threadz, a local resource center that provides clothing, shoes, hygiene items and school supplies to teenagers for school, internships and job interviews.

Those looking to help can bring shampoo, conditioner, body wash and other toiletries. Aside from toiletry donations, Threadz also will accept donations and volunteer sign-ups on site.
