Tempe Marketplace is kicking off the holiday season this November with a festive lineup of holiday happenings for the whole family taking place through December.

From community traditions to new ways to give back for the holidays, Tempe Marketplace provides the ideal destination to enjoy celebrations, holiday shopping sprees and more, according to a press release.

Upcoming celebrations are:

“Tinsel & Twilight” Annual Holiday Tree Lighting on Wednesday, Nov. 27

  • Beginning at 6:30 p.m., The District at Tempe Marketplace will transform into a desert winter wonderland with the annual lighting of its 50-foot Christmas tree.
  • Catch the first glimpse of seasonal snow, and say hello to Santa and other holiday character favorites as they arrive in style in a Waymo.
  • Plus, The Salvation Army will be on-site with the opportunity to donate to its Angel Tree Program.

Free photos with Santa on Dec. 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m.

  • In addition to free photos during Tinsel & Twilight, guests have two more opportunities to snap a photo with the jolly man himself. Stop over at The District at Tempe Marketplace for free professional photos with Santa for the whole family.

Teen Spirit of Giving on Dec. 6 from 5. to 9 p.m.

  • This holiday season, DECA students from Marcos de Niza High School and other Tempe Union High Schools will join forces to raise money that will be donated directly to the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.
  • Kids, teens and adults are invited to get into the holiday spirit with live music and karaoke, games, scavenger hunts and more. Special edition holiday cards, hot chocolate and cider and light up toys, will be available for purchase.
  • Multiple Angel Trees will be on-site at the event so attendees can buy gifts to support teens in the Tempe area.

$1,000 Shopping Spree from Nov. 15 to Dec. 20

  • Tempe Marketplace shoppers have a chance to win the ultimate holiday gift – a $1,000 shopping spree.
  • To enter to win, guests can scan the QR code on the giant shopping bag installation located on The District Street and enter the necessary information to enter for a chance to win. The winner will be selected randomly on Dec. 21.

Holiday yoga on Dec. 7 at 10 a.m.

  • Join Tempe Marketplace and Lululemon for holiday yoga on the District Stage. This free outdoor yoga session brings all the relaxation of a regular yoga class, combined with the fresh outdoor air to put you right in the holiday mood.

12 Days of Snowfall from Dec. 12 through Christmas Eve

  • Guests can gather to experience live snowfall with two shows every day at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Make your very own snowmen and snow angels and enjoy the magic of snow in the desert at Tempe Marketplace.
  • Then, on Christmas Eve, enjoy snowfall every hour from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Waymo promotions from Nov. 27 to Dec. 27

  • Waymo, the Valley’s autonomous vehicle company, will offer Tempe Marketplace shoppers 25% off their first two rides when you take a Waymo to or from the property for the holiday season.
  • Whether it’s a date night to Sip & Stroll or last-minute gift shopping, Waymo and Tempe Marketplace are set to provide an easy outing during the busy season. Use code TEMPE25 to claim.

Sip & Stroll

  • On select dates, enjoy cocktails on the go throughout The District to sip on while holiday shopping or sit back and enjoy during seasonal festivities like 12 Days of Snowfall.

Tempe Marketplace marketing director Heather Edge said in the release that the holiday season is all about the community, and that the shopping destination wants to cultivate a “dynamic” space for the community to celebrate the holiday season.

“Whether you’re looking to check off those gift shopping lists, sip on holiday beverages, or enjoy holiday festivities, there really is something for all ages,” Edge said. “We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone this year at Tempe Marketplace!”

Tempe Marketplace is located at 2000 E Rio Salado Pkwy, Tempe. For details on all the holiday events and activations, visit https://tempemarketplace.com/.
