Tempe launches weekly recap podcast on city news

You can be a Tempe know-it-all in just 30 minutes every Friday by listening to the city’s new podcast, "Tempe This Week."

According to a city release, the new podcast launched Mar. 3.

With a group of diverse Tempe voices dishing news of the week — local food, events, music, arts and more — every episode will also feature an interview with a Tempe VIP and co-host Roy Tatem.

Additional podcast hosts will shift weekly to include upbeat, knowledgeable Tempe staff from several city departments and organizations, giving expertise on a wide variety of issues that everyone cares about, the release explained. The podcast is produced internally by the Tempe Communication and Marketing Office.

The premiere episode was shot on location at Tempe Diablo Stadium, getting the inside scoop on spring training from President and CEO of the Tempe Tourism Office Michael Martin and Tempe Diablo Stadium Manager Jerry Hall.

One listener will win a pair of tickets to the March 17 Angels game, courtesy of the Tempe Tourism Office. Go to tempe.gov/TempeThisWeek to enter.

New episodes drop every Friday. Find them at tempe.gov/TempeThisWeek, Podbean, Spotify and most other podcast platforms.
