The displays will commemorate the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims on Sunday, Nov. 17, a city release explained.

WDR is a global event to remember the many millions who have been killed and seriously injured in traffic crashes and to acknowledge the suffering of all affected victims, families and communities. This is the sixth year Tempe has placed displays in honor of WDR.

In 2023 Tempe had 50 serious vehicle collisions which resulted in 24 deaths and 34 others being seriously injured, the release stated. The memorial displays for the 24 victims can be found at:

  • University Drive and Price Road
  • College Avenue and Alameda Drive
  • Priest Drive and Fifth Street
  • University Drive and Dorsey Lane
