Tempe crisis line expanding into Oklahoma

Solari Crisis & Human Services has entered a three-year contract with the state of Oklahoma’s Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to serve as the call center responding to calls in that state made to 988, the national Suicide & Crisis Prevention Lifeline.

To do so, Solari has opened a new call center in downtown Oklahoma City and employed more than 30 people to staff the operation. It marks the company’s first expansion outside its home state of Arizona and began taking calls on July 5.

As of July 16, when the national Suicide & Crisis Prevention Lifeline began using the new 988 three-digit number in place of the previous 10-digit number (800-273-8255, which still routes callers to the same services), Solari has also served as the primary call center taking calls made to 988 in Arizona.

“We are excited about our partnership with the state of Oklahoma and honored to be helping those making calls to 988 from that state as well as in Arizona. We are thrilled to take our company’s mission of Inspiring Hope beyond our home state and share it with those we serve via our new call center in Oklahoma City,” said Justin Chase, President and CEO of Solari.
