Event benefits Operation Santa Claus

Posted

ProShred Arizona did their part to help kids in need have a merry Christmas during their Shredding for Santa document shredding event on Saturday, Dec. 10.

The event was in partnership with the Operation Santa Claus toy drive, a local organization helping over 3,000 Arizona kids receive toys, food and clothing during the holidays.

Participants of the shred-a-thon could have two boxes of unwanted documents securely disposed of with a donation of toys, canned food, or clothing. The event took place at the Little Dealer Little Prices RV Dealership at 2350 West Deer Valley in Phoenix, according to a news release from ProShred Arizona.

For every toy donation participants submitted into a raffle to win a new F-150 Super Crew or Lincoln Corsair courtesy of Sanderson Ford and Sanderson Lincoln who helps organize the Operation Santa Claus toy drive.

ProShred Arizona Owner Patty Caradonna said it was an honor to work with Operation Santa Claus, a nonprofit helping kids have a happy holiday for 22 years.

“We wanted to participate in a toy drive that would help local kids in Arizona and Operation Santa Claus was the perfect fit,” Caradonna said in a statement. “It was an honor to play a small part in helping this organization help those in need.”

Max Sirstins, Marketing Director at Sanderson Ford and Lincoln, helps organize Operation Santa Claus and he said small businesses like ProShred play a key role in helping children in need have a great Christmas.

“ProShred Arizona reached out to us and said they wanted to help with Operation Santa Claus and we were thrilled to work with them for this event,” Sirstins said. “Feeding a family and giving kids toys is always a great cause and Operation Santa Claus is proud of the fact that we will be helping over 3,000 children this year.”

Event participants were eager to donate toys in exchange for some free document destruction and disposal. Mitch Keebler came to the event with his son and said donating was an easy decision.

“It was a win, win for me because I get to help with a great cause and get rid of some old documents,” Keebler said. “It is important to help people during the holidays.”

Residents can still donate to Operation Santa Claus through Dec. 19 at any Little Dealer Little Prices location. For more information on the car giveaway visit the Operation Santa Claus website https://givetotheclaus.com.
