Stray Cat Theatre will conclude its 23rd season with the classic, “camp-tastic” science-fiction musical “Little Shop of Horrors.”
This production promises even more of the humor audiences are used to — just with a decidedly more adult edge, a press release stated. Stray Cat’s take will lean into the “horror,” hopefully landing darker than past revivals.
The show will run from May 2-17 at Tempe Center for the Arts in the Studio Theatre, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway.
Please be aware the show contains adult language and situations and comic depictions of over-the-top gore, the release noted. Often this is a show that is considered family friendly but the theatre strongly encourages treating this production as at the very least PG-13.
Opening night is May 2 at 7:30 p.m., and the closing performance is scheduled for May 16 at 7:30 p.m. There will also be an ASL-interpreted show on May 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Free parking is available at the parking garage next to the venue, and all patrons will receive complimentary validation.
Tickets are $50 for adults, $45 for seniors 65 and up, $30 for students with valid, current ID, and $35 for groups of 10 or more. They can be purchased at www.straycattheatre.org, or by calling 480-350-2822.
