Salt River Project is holding a virtual event to educate homeowners on water use and conservation.
The event is 12-1 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, virtual.
The SRP Virtual Water Conservation Expo provides an opportunity for residents to hear from experts about water stewardship, conservation and SRP’s role in managing the Valley’s water. Attendees can expect to learn about:
- Surface Water Resources – Discover the strategies and practices SRP uses to maintain a resilient and reliable water supply.
- Forest Restoration Partnerships – Learn about the SRP Healthy Forest Initiative and how SRP is working with partners on forest restoration projects.
- New Water Resiliency Projects – Hear about the Verde Reservoirs Sediment Mitigation Project and other SRP partnership projects that will help ensure water resiliency for Central Arizona.
- Water Conservation – Get tips on how you can conserve water at your home, including a toilet leak test tutorial and an overview of online resources.
- Manufacturer Product Videos – Ewing Outdoor Supply, Hunter Industries, Rachio and Rain Bird briefly highlight their products.
Viewers will also have an opportunity to ask a water expertabout SRP’s water stewardship and the smart irrigation products.
SRP has distributed more than 11,000 smart irrigation controllers during the past 17 years. That translates to an estimated 1.5 billion gallons of water saved based on the average household water use of 12,000 gallons per month before installation, company officials said.
