Speeding, impairment believed to be factors in fatal Tempe crash: PD

Posted

Two people died early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash near Rural and Broadway roads in Tempe, police said.

Police responded to the collision and found three people inside the vehicle. Two   passengers died, one at the crash site and the other at a hospital.

The driver sustained minor injuries, police said.

Authorities said speeding and impairment are believed to be factors in the crash.

The crash is being investigated, but it appears the car was headed south on Rural just past Broadway when it crossed several lanes of traffic before hitting “a fixed object,” according to police.

No identities have been released.
