Tempe will coordinate construction of wastewater infrastructure improvements on Southern Avenue from 48th to Roosevelt streets from April 14 through mid-September.
City officials said the project will affect traffic 24 hours every day.
Drivers should allow for extra travel time as traffic lanes and turning movements will be closed or restricted, according to a release.
"Business and intersection access will remain open, with temporary closures only when essential," the release stated.
"At times there might be a slight odor, which is typical during rehabilitation of sewer pipelines and manholes."
