The Scottsdale Police Department, with the Tempe Police Department and the Arizona Department of Public Safety, will conduct DUI Task Forces May 28 through May 31 for the Memorial Day holiday.

The goal of the officers assigned to the DUI Task Force, according to a police press release, is to contact those drivers who "made the disastrous decision to drive impaired" and remove them from the road before they hurt themselves or others.

If someone plans on consuming alcoholic beverages, rather than operating a motor vehicle, the release said the best choice is always to find some other form of transportation to avoid driving impaired.

Drive safely or find an alternate way home, added the release.
