Salvation Army’s new building on Rural Road provides heat relief, a food pantry and rent assistance.
Officials recently dedicated the 14,000-square-foot community center at 2621 S. Rural Road for a ribbon cutting and to recognize National Salvation Army Week, which was originally declared in 1954 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
The center also provides youth and adult ministry, utilities assistance, mobile outreach, hygiene kits, home goods, diapers, case management and seasonal assistance, according to a release.
