Ronald Mcdonald House Charities Pro-Am golf tournament raises $350,000 to support families

Posted

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona, RMHCCNAZ, is celebrating historic success with its 7th Annual Ronald McDonald House Greater Phoenix Pro-Am presented by JFQ Lending.

Held on May 13 at the beautiful Grayhawk Golf Course in Scottsdale, the Pro-Am style tournament welcomed 50 foursomes – a tournament record – and raised over $350,000 to support families who call the House their “home-away-from-home.”

The sell-out event was chaired by RMHCCNAZ board member Myles Johnson and featured a silent auction along with Trackman Golf and True Spec Golf experiences.

“It was so incredible to gather together again safely for a day of golf celebrating our mission of keeping families together when it matters most,” Kerry Schulman, RMHCCNAZ CEO, stated in the release.

The unique Pro-Am tournament also invited 10 PGA Champion Tour pros, including names like Brandon Chamblee, Gary McCord, and Jan Stephenson, as well as 40 local pros.

“Each of the golfers who joined us made an impact for families through their participation,” Schulman stated. “We are so grateful to have such dedicated champions in our corner.”

Beyond its support as the tournament’s presenting sponsor, JFQ Lending made a big splash at the event by making an overall $250,000 gift to RMHCCNAZ for 2021.

“The extremely generous donation from JFQ Lending will support so many families who travel to the Valley seeking medical care for their children that is not available in their home communities,” Schulman shared.

Schulman further expressed great thanks to JFQ Lending for its committed support to the organization and to the families it serves.

“JFQ Lending is committed to supporting our community and we are so proud to be doing so as a champion for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona,” John Kresevic, president of JFQ Lending, stated in the release.

RMHCCNAZ provides temporary housing at three Valley locations, including downtown Phoenix near St. Joseph’s Hospital, on the campus of Phoenix Children’s Hospital and on the campus of Cardon Children’s Medical Center in Mesa.

“The families RMHCCNAZ serves can breathe easier and better focus on caring for their child because of the House,” Kresevic stated. “To us, that is something that is worth supporting in a big way.”

Last year, even while having to limit its capacity due to COVID-19, the House served 529 families and provided 9,739 nights of rest.
