Provide feedback on Tempe’s first energy equity roadmap

Posted

Tempe’s Sustainability and Resilience Division is seeking community feedback to help shape the city’s first Residential Energy Equity Roadmap, which addresses energy use and extreme heat challenges.

The roadmap will outline the direction of programs, policies and infrastructure recommendations aimed at pursuing funding for community-identified investments, a city release explained.

Choose one of two opportunities to attend a public meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14 — the same material will be available at both times. Later in the day, an in-person meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Tempe EnVision Center, 1310 E Apache Blvd.

If you are unable to join, a recorded presentation and project materials will be available at tempe.gov/EnergyEquity. You can also provide online input from Jan. 14 – 28 at the same link.

Following the engagement phase, the finalized Residential Energy Equity Roadmap, including findings and recommendations, will be presented to city council in early 2025, according to the release.

The city noted in the release that people who require a reasonable accommodation to participate based on language or disability should contact 480-350-4311 or tempe311@tempe.gov. Requests should be made as early as possible to ensure the city has an opportunity to address the accommodation.
