Poets and poetry lovers are invited to join the Arizona State Poetry Society for an open mic event on Nov. 19.
The society’s East Valley Poets branch will host a morning of readings called Poetry in the Park for anyone in attendance to share their own poems. The event is free and open to poets of all ages.
The open mic will be held at Tempe’s Kiwanis Park in Ramada 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
ASPS currently has three active branches, two of which are located in the greater Phoenix area and one in Tucson. In addition to the East Valley Poets, Valley residents can also check out the Scottsdale Mustang Poets. The branches do not charge annual dues but donations are accepted.
