The Parkinson’s Foundation will host its annual Moving Day Phoenix – A Walk for Parkinson’s, on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Kiwanis Park in Tempe.
The in-person event is one of many community events taking place across the U.S., according to a press release. Funds raised through Moving Day will support cutting-edge research, care and education programs to improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s disease, PD, and their families.
This year, the foundation is excited to announce Rock Steady Boxing Gilbert as one of its honorees. Rock Steady Boxing is a non-contact boxing program specifically designed for people with Parkinson's disease.
Owner, Nikkel Nielsen, started Rock Steady Boxing Gilbert in 2017 with a vision to provide a supportive and empowering community for those living with PD, the release explained.
People with Parkinson’s disease, their families, health professionals and local businesses are all welcome to join the walk.
RSVP by visiting www.movingdayphoenix.org or contacting Robin Rhea at rrhea@parkinson.org or 480-506-0063.
