Milhaus and Banyan Residential held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Northbend, a new 310-unit luxury apartment community in north Tempe.
Mike DiDomenico, Tempe economic development director, and representatives from the Tempe Chamber of Commerce attended the event on March 12 at 906 N. Miller Road, according to a press release.
Brad Vogelsmeier, Milhaus vice president of development, said in the release that the Northbend development represents the company’s commitment to creating “fun, innovative communities” that enhance the local landscape.
"We're thrilled to bring this unique concept to Tempe, offering residents a perfect blend of urban convenience and outdoor adventure,” Vogelsmeier said.
As part of their commitment to Tempe, Milhaus donated $1,000 to the Tempe Community Action Agency, which will support TCAA's efforts to improve lives in Tempe and demonstrate Northbend's dedication to being a positive influence in the community.
Max Friedman, Banyan Residential partner, said in the release that the rapid growth in the Phoenix market presents a great opportunity to meet rising housing demands, and since 2019, they’ve developed or acquired over 2,500 units and 250,000 square feet of office space in the region.
"We're eager to continue our expansion in the Phoenix metro area and strengthen our partnership with Milhaus, delivering high-quality communities like Northbend to meet the evolving needs of residents,” Friedman said.
Milhaus, an award-winning developer, owner and operator of Class-A multifamily properties, partnered with Banyan Residential, a private real estate investment firm specializing in ground-up development, to create this distinctive community.
Northbend marks Milhaus' second community built in Tempe, following Nollie, with a third one set to open soon in Phoenix, the release noted.
Blocks from Tempe Town Lake and approximately one and a half miles from Arizona State University's Tempe campus, the community appeals to students and adventure seekers alike.
Its unique "trading post" allows residents to borrow kayaks, paddleboards, and camping gear, embracing an explorer lifestyle without the hassle of equipment investment or storage, the release detailed. The modern studio to four-bedroom apartments blend urban living with outdoor pursuits, creating an ideal home for those who crave city excitement and natural escapes.
Northbend offers residents luxury amenities, including a pool deck, grill stations, outdoor spa, commercial-grade fitness center, clubhouse with work and entertainment areas, an on-site library and a dog park.
Additionally, the property welcomes all dog breeds with no restrictions for renters.
