Girls Rule Foundation, the Arizona organization renowned for creating programs and workshops that help young girls build confidence and leadership skill sets, is collaborating with women-central nonprofits Reaching Teen Hearts and Know Cares to bring its 6th annual teen summit, Girls Change the World, to Tempe High School on April 26.

The Girls Change the World Summit is a leadership event designed specifically for teen girls, aiming to empower young women with confidence, leadership and financial literacy skills, giving them the tools to succeed in life, school and their future careers, according to a press release.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., this high-energy, collaborative event will explore skill-building activities, insights from industry leaders, guest speakers, prizes, t-shirts, lunch and giveaways.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet female leaders from over 20 industries, gain insights into their strengths, and learn how to build resilience for achieving their goals and dreams, the release detailed.

Additionally, they will receive guidance on how to apply for college scholarships with access to a list of over 100 opportunities. Engaging sessions featuring more than 10 energizing speakers promise to enrich the experience further.

“By encouraging girls who are within their critical developmental years to participate in programs like the Girls Change the World Summit, we can equip them with the tools they need to build their confidence, plan for the future and prepare for life beyond high school,” Girls Rule Foundation Co-Founder and Program Creator Dena Patton said in the release.

A highlight of the event is its Girls Change the World Scholarship & Mentoring award, which is a scholarship program held in tandem with the summit. It will award $3,500 in scholarship checks — three $500 and two $1,000 scholarships — to five outstanding, in-state junior or senior girls leading with kindness, making a difference and pursuing their dreams.

Parents and teachers can submit nominations online up until midnight on Tuesday, March 25, the release stated.

All nominees will be celebrated on stage at the Girls Change the World Summit on April 26 with certificates and photos, culminating in the announcement of the five winners. In addition to scholarships, three months of mentoring will be awarded to the winners this year to support their college or post-high school journey.

Students will also have the opportunity to earn leadership and community service hours, which are often required by many classes or sports teams, by participating in the Summit, the release noted.

Tickets are available for $25-$40 and can be purchased online at girlschangetheworld.net. For more, visit girlsrulefoundation.org/annualsummit.
