The talented mini-Lego builders of the Creative Crew at Legoland Discovery Center Arizona in Tempe successfully set a new world record for most Lego race cars raced in three minutes on March 20.
This momentous event celebrated the launch of the Lego F1-themed Build the Thrill event, which is currently happening at the center, as explained in a press release. Kids in attendance were able to race 375 Lego race cars down the Lego Racers Build and Test ramp at the Tempe-based attraction in just three minutes, setting the bar for future record attempts.
The Creative Crew built a total of 260 cars in roughly 45 minutes, using 3,000 Lego bricks and including over 1,000 Lego tire pieces, the release detailed.
As part of the ongoing Build the Thrill event, guests can get hands-on with Lego bricks to create a minifigure driver and build an ultimate race car, before putting them through their paces. Guests can also head to the pit stop and take on the build challenges to beat the clock, before taking part in an awesome race.
Master Model Builder Delanie Penndragon and playmakers from LegoLand Discovery Center Arizona will be on hand with top tips and trackside inspiration, as families drive wheel to wheel with other guests, the release noted.
