Las Vegas punk band Mercy Music coming to Tempe

Posted

Las Vegas punk band Mercy Music has a new album coming out, and will appear in Tempe.

The combo will release “What You Stand To Lose” on Friday, June 30 via Double Helix Records. Their tour in support of the new album will make a stop at the Yucca Tap Room, 29 W. Southern Ave., for a Wednesday, June 28 show.

Local bands Winterhaven and Ghost in the Willow will also perform.

Mercy Music released their first single and video "Love You/Need You," followed by a video for their second single “Suddenly.” Mercy Music stems from similar sounds in bands like Akaline Trio, Against Me! and Hot Water Music.

“’What You Stand To Lose’ is an album that reflects on many monumental changes in personal life, feeling like your world is flipped upside down and learning to come to terms with facing your fears,” a press release states.

Following 2020’s “Nothing in the Dark,” produced by Cameron Webb (Alkaline Trio/Motörhead), “What You Stand To Lose” is Mercy Music’s fourth full-length album since they formed in 2014. Over the course of their career, Mercy Music has toured the U.S. and the European Union.
