Kyrene School District schools account for 26% of the 83 Arizona schools being awarded Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports awards this year from PBISAz.
This year, 22 Kyrene schools have been recognized for their hard work implementing and maintaining PBIS to improve the academic and behavioral outcomes for students, according to a media release. The award recognizes a school’s dedication and commitment to improving student outcomes using consistent PBIS initiatives on campus.
The schools receiving the awards are:
Level 2 – Tier 1 Fidelity
Kyrene Altadeña Middle School
Kyrene Centennial Middle School
Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School
Level 3 – Tiers 1 & 2 Fidelity
Kyrene de la Estrella Elementary School
Kyrene del Norte Dual Language Academy
Level 4 – Tiers 1, 2 & 3 Fidelity
Kyrene Akimel A-al Middle School
Kyrene Aprende Middle School
Kyrene de las Brisas Elementary School
Kyrene de los Cerritos Leadership Academy
Kyrene del Cielo Elementary School
Kyrene de la Colina Elementary School
Kyrene de la Esperanza Elementary School
Kyrene de las Lomas Elementary School
Kyrene de la Mariposa Computer Science Academy
Kyrene Middle School

This recognition highlights Kyrene’s dedication to creating and sustaining school-wide systems of support that improve learning and ensure all students are successful socially, emotionally and academically, the release stated.
Awards will be presented during the annual Behavior Education Technology Conference at the Desert Willow Conference Center in Phoenix.
