Hundred Mile Brewing Co. has hired Valerie Adee as its head brewer.

Adee, a former Arizona State Sun Devil, received an Advanced Brewing Theory certification from the Siebel Institute in Chicago.

She began her career on Firestone Walker Brewing Company’s Research & Development team in Venice Beach, California, according to a press release.

Hundred Mile Brewing is the first venture for industry newcomer, Sue Rigler, the release states. To assist in realizing her dream, Rigler tapped Adee to help guide HMBC through its launch, early production phase and opportunities for future growth.

“It’s been my lifelong goal to own a brewery --- not just to create amazing craft beer, but to bring together a group of the best and brightest to build a space where people of all ages can gather over their shared passion for well-being, laughter, and of course --- clean, fresh beer,” Rigler said in a prepared statement.

“We made the decision to take our new space down to the studs so that we had a blank slate to bring our vision forward. Everything from our floors to our interior design to our water filtration system is being customized to ensure the best possible products and customer experience available. We can’t wait to open our doors and meet our neighbors.”

Adee echoed a similar sentiment.

“I’m excited to join the passionate team at Hundred Mile Brewing and be a part of the brewery from its early inception,” she said. “They have an impressive and diverse vision for their portfolio, and an amazing team of intelligent and collaborative people throughout the organization. This is going to be a lot of fun.”
