Homeland Security Investigations served and executed a federal warrant Wednesday “in the area” of Danelle Plaza in Tempe, according to a statement from the city.
The Tempe Police Department was not involved in the HSI operation at the plaza, 3400 S. Mill Ave., the release stated.
“The Tempe Police Department remains committed to providing the highest level of service and ensuring the safety of everyone in our community.
“We are aware of the recent federal enforcement activity around the country,” the release continued.
“We respect the community’s thoughts and feelings on this issue. We remain committed to supporting safe demonstrations. We recognize and respect the constitutional rights of everyone to exercise free speech.
"Our role is to ensure that all individuals are safe and that everyone is treated with dignity.”
