Harkins announced The Harkins Gaming Showdown of Champions, where competitors will battle it out in Super Smash Bros. on the big screen at Harkins Tempe Marketplace. 

The tournament will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring up to 60 participants competing for fun prizes, a press release explained. Entry fees are $25 per competitor and $5 per spectator.

The tournament is limited to 60 participants and follows a double-elimination format, with prizes awarded to the top players:

• 1st place: Nintendo Switch, a championship belt and Big Party Popcorn
• 2nd place: $100 Harkins ward Dollars, a trophy and Big Party Popcorn
• 3rd place: $50 Harkins Award Dollars, a trophy and Big Party Popcorn
• Second chance bracket winner: $25 Harkins Award Dollars and Big Party Popcorn
