Young Girl Scouts donate funds to local youth peers

A local Girl Scout Brownie troop delivered $1,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, donating funds to the hospital’s Camp Rainbow program serving cancer patients.

Brownie Troop 4917 from Phoenix’s Great Hearts Archway Veritas delivered the donation on April 7, according to a press release.

The troop’s donation will be used for Camp Rainbow, an annual summer camp for PCH patients who have, or have had cancer or a chronic blood disorder. Since 1985, campers have had the opportunity to enjoy fun and meaningful experiences with others in a supportive environment full of exciting activities.

The 2021 Camp Rainbow will be held May 22-28 at Lost Canyon Young Life Camp in Williams.

The camp session includes activities such as horseback riding, zip line and rock wall, arts and crafts, canoing, fishing, swimming, archery and more.
