Car, light rail train collide Sunday morning in Tempe

A car attempted a U-turn against a red light Sunday morning and crashed into a light rail train, Tempe police said.

The crash occurred about 6:45 a.m. April 13 near Apache Boulevard and McClintock Drive.

No one was injured, police said, adding that the train moved the car about 25 yards.

Light rail service was interrupted briefly, but vehicle traffic was not affected, police said.
