Broadway Road section to close in both directions this weekend

Drivers should plan for a section of Broadway Road to close this weekend in both directions between 48th and 55th streets, state transportation officials announced Wednesday.
Work on a traffic shift related to the Broadway Curve improvement project will begin 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, and end 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
ADOT officials suggest the following Broadway Road detours:
Westbound Broadway Road: Use northbound Priest Drive to westbound University Drive to southbound 40th Street to access Broadway Road.
Eastbound Broadway Road: Use southbound 48th Street to eastbound Southern Avenue to northbound Priest Drive to access Broadway Road.
52nd Street detours:
• Northbound 52nd Street: Use northbound Priest Drive to westbound 14th Street to access 52nd Street.
• Southbound 52nd Street: Use eastbound 14th Street to southbound Priest Drive to access Broadway Road.
At the same time, the ramps at I-10 and Broadway Road will also be closed. Drivers are encouraged to use the following detours:
• The westbound I-10 on-ramp at Broadway Road: Use the westbound I-10 on-ramp at 40th Street.
• The westbound I-10 off-ramp at Broadway Road: Use the westbound I-10 off-ramp at 32nd Street.
• The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Broadway Road: Use the eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Baseline Road.
• The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Broadway Road: Use northbound State Route 143 to University Drive to southbound 40th Street or Priest Drive to access Broadway Road.
