Barbara, beloved wife, and mother entered into eternal life on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020. Barbara was born July 9, 1939 in Elizabeth NJ and was the eldest child of Allen and Beatrice Motley. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Mary and Helen.
Barbara was raised and educated in Elizabeth NJ and upon the family moving she finished her education where she graduated from Metuchen High School. After graduation she was hired at Johnson and Johnson in New Brunswick NJ and later became employed at Merck & Company where she worked for over 25 years holding many positions. She met her husband Lloyd and they married in 1984. After her early retirement in 1992, she and Lloyd moved several times living in Woodbridge NJ, Dingmans Ferry PA and then landing at their dream home in Sun City West, AZ.
While there they kept busy in numerous clubs and activities. She was a member of The Red Hat Society and kept herself busy volunteering in several areas at Advent Episcopal Church. Barbara also served on the Board of Directors of Bennevilla, an organization providing assistance to the elderly.
Her feet never stopped moving. They traveled extensively across the United States and to many foreign countries. When the heat in Sun City West became overwhelming, they spent summers in Lloyd’s native Canada. She always found something fun and educational in every location of her travels. She made it her business to meet people and learn of their cultures.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd, son Randy, stepson Steven, Sisters, Jacqueline of Rahway NJ, Pearline of Philadelphia PA. Brothers, Allen Jr (Evelyn), Charles (Veronica) all in NJ and Marion (Barbara) of Stone Mountain GA.
