ASU hosts panel with award-winning journalists April 14

Arizona State University will host two veteran journalists at its Tempe campus on Monday, April 14, from 6-8 p.m.

The general public is invited to attend the no cost panel discussion with journalist Jorge Ramos and Marty Baron, a press release explained.

Ramos, is a multi-Emmy Award-winning journalist and former longtime anchor for Univision; and Baron is the former executive editor of The Washington Post and The Boston Globe, whose investigative reporting helped uncover the church abuse scandal in Boston earning him a Pulitzer Prize, ultimately depicted in the Academy Award-winning film, “Spotlight.”

Both will join moderator Javier Marin for a conversation that transcends borders — geographical, linguistic, and cultural — highlighting the importance of fair and balanced journalism, the release stated.

The seasoned journalists will meet with budding students from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication as well as The School of Transborder Studies.

Audience questions will drive a dynamic exchange of ideas between these journalists, students and the general public, the release stated. The panelists will be addressing questions in both English and Spanish.

More details can be found here. Register for the panel here.
