Arizona DPS needs help investigating fatal Tempe collision

Posted

The Arizona Department of Public Safety needs the public’s help in finding the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian May 11 on Loop 202 in Tempe.

The collision occurred at about 9:30 p.m. near the Scottsdale Road off-ramp.

Troopers responded to a call about a pedestrian in the roadway on westbound Loop 202 and found a woman had been hit by a vehicle. She was declared dead at the scene.

No vehicles involved or witness stayed at the location, according to DPS, adding a semi-truck may have been responsible.

Investigators said it also may be possible that whoever struck the woman was unaware of the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to call the DPS duty office at 602-223-2212.
