Arizona Aloha Festival returns in March at Tempe Beach Park

Posted

The annual Arizona Aloha Festival, sponsored by Arizona Aloha Festivals, will take place March 15 and 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Tempe Beach Park.

This free, two-day celebration of Hawaiian and Polynesian culture is complete with entertainment, vendors of island lifestyle products, food vendors offering a variety of island culinary delights and cultural displays and demonstrations, a press release explained.

This family-friendly event is alcohol-free.

More than 25 performing groups will provide continuous entertainment on two stages, and over 85 merchandise vendors will offer unique island crafts and products at the Island Marketplace.

Island-style food vendors will be cooking up beloved island cuisine favorites such as Island-style plate lunches, laulau, poi, kalua pork, manapua, Hawaiian-style teriyaki, fresh tropical fruit drinks and the infamous shave ice, the release detailed.

There will also be numerous artisans, artists and storytellers who will share information about the various cultures. Learn a hula or how to play an ukulele, find out about paddling an outrigger canoe, or join the children in making a paper flower lei or playing games.

The Bishop Museum is visiting from Hawaii for activities and information, the release noted. There are also raffle tickets for a Hawaiian holiday at the Aston Mahana in Maui or buy a t-shirt to benefit recovery efforts from the disastrous fires.
