Aida Sibic is a Tempe resident and moved to the U.S. as a teen refugee from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s. She's now written a book about her experience called “Luck Follows the Brave: From Refugee Camps, Abuse, and Suicide Loss to Living the Dream.”

Every day of Aida Sibic’s life has been irrevocably impacted by war.  Now in her early 40s and living in Tempe, Sibic and her family were forced to leave their homeland of Bosnia behind and became refugees in California. Cut off from friends and loved ones, Sibic formed a love of technology as a teen in a new country. She now works in cybersecurity.  more
