Winds knock out first day of Surprise dog show

The Friday event of the Copper Classic Dog Show has been canceled due to strong winds.

The show will resume Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30.

More than 2,000 dogs will strut their stuff in Surprise for the Copper Classic Dog Show. This event is presented by the Kachina Kennel Club and features over 200 different breeds participating in a variety of sport, agility and conformation competitions for the whole family to enjoy.

Admission and parking are free. The event begins at 8 a.m. and goes until approximately 5 p.m. daily at Mark Coronado Park, 15960 N. Bullard Ave.

Only dogs competing in the show are permitted.
