WHAM Art Center rings in 2021 with new classes

WHAM Art Center, 16560 N. Dysart Road, will begin 2021 with several early January classes.

They include:

  • WHAM Kids First Saturday of the month arts and crafts “An Apples for Art Program” for ages 8 through 12 will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 with Hope Necklaces and Bracelets. All supplies are provided. At each arts and craft workshop each child will have a project to bring home. Only a $5 registration fee is required per child. Seating is limited to 12 students. Register online at wham-art.org/classes1 so the art instructor has adequate supplies.
  • The WHAM Art Book Club meets on the first Monday of each month. This month’s reading/studying: “The Letters of Paul Cezanne.” Mr. Cezanne was a Post impressionist French artist, in the 19th century. The next meeting is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan 4. Cost is $10 per non-member.
  • The next TeenWHAM art club meeting from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6. It will include a daily art challenge and birthday recognition. Cost is $10 per non-member.
  • Sketchbook Art Club meets the first Thursday of each month. All mediums are welcome. This is a great opportunity for WHAM Artists to work together for a couple hours sharing techniques and giving each other encouragement while working in personal sketch books or portfolios. After working in sketch books, the group will meet for sack lunch in the dining room. The club meets next from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 7, with lunch available until 1 p.m. It is free to members and $10 to non-members.
