The Vista Center for the Arts continues a robust schedule for the 2022-23 season with two different performances coming before the end of the year.

The venue, at 15660 N. Parkview Place Surprise, plays host to the following performances in the rest of December:

• The West Valley Symphony welcomes back the West Valley Youth Orchestra during a show from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18.
West Valley Symphony will fill the first half of the concert with holiday orchestral favorites such as the Nutcracker Suite and Festive Sounds of Hanukkah. They will be joined in the second half by the West Valley Youth Orchestra sitting side-by-side with the professional musicians with more yuletide favorites such as A Most Wonderful Christmas, Sleigh Ride and Greensleeves.

Members of the youth orchestra come from come Avondale, Litchfield Park, Goodyear, Peoria, Glendale, Buckeye, Surprise, Tolleson and other areas of the West Valley. Claire Gordon is the music director and conductor.

This is the second of the six performances in the West Valley Symphony Series at The Vista. Most of these performances are return engagements.

• The community theater production of “The Nutcracker” features an all local cast and crew. The whole family is welcome to this holiday favorite, with two shows available at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, and at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23.
