With less than a week left in the filing period for three seats up for grabs on the Litchfield Park City Council, only two of the five potential candidates who filed statements of interest to run in the Aug. 4 election have submitted their paperwork.

City Clerk Terri Roth said via email Tuesday, March 31 that incumbents Ann Donahue and John Romack had filed their paperwork. Incumbent Ron Clair, and potential challengers Michael Evans and Kerry Giangobbe have until Monday, April 6 to schedule an appointment with Ms. Roth to file.

Each candidate must collect no fewer than 92 and no more than 184 signatures to qualify for the ballot, she said.

Ms. Roth will pull names to determine candidates’ order on the ballot at 5 p.m. April 6, then announce the results.

The public traditionally is invited to City Hall to witness the ballot pull. This year it will not be open to the public due to COVID-19 concerns and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance on social distancing to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, Ms. Roth said.
