Traffic control changes coming to Waddell

Project part of widening from Reems to 303

Posted

Motorists traveling Waddell Road between Reems Road to Loop 303 can expect traffic control changes — including the activation of the signal at the Waddell Road and Sarival Avenue intersection — beginning Wednesday, June 24.

The traffic changes include:

• Eastbound traffic on Waddell between Loop 303 and Reems will be shifted to the south side of the road.

• Left turns from eastbound Waddell will be re-opened at the intersections of Legacy Parc Boulevard and 157th Avenue.

• The traffic signal at the intersection of Waddell and Sarival will be activated. The signal will be in the flashing red light phase for 48 hours until being put into normal function mode.

• All three lanes on the north side of Waddell, Sarival to Loop 303, will be open for westbound traffic.

Drivers are reminded to be mindful of speed limits, construction signage and to watch for crews in the area during the road project.

When complete later this summer, the improvements within this segment of Waddell Road will construct four additional travel lanes (except Reems to Sarival which requires three additional travel lanes) for a total of six travel lanes.

Other improvements include provisions for drainage, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, street lighting, landscaping and turn lanes.

This voter-approved G.O. Bond project is scheduled to be complete this summer, weather permitting.
