Surprise kids have a chance to sign up for the city Parks and Recreation’s winter youth sports leagues this month.
Online registration runs through Saturday, Nov. 21 for basketball, kickball and flag football leagues, as well as camps, classes, esports tournaments and tennis programs.
Late registration begins Sunday, Nov. 22.
Here is a breakdown for various registrations:
Youth basketball, kickball and flag football leagues
Recreational leagues for boys and girls ages 4 to 17 with age determined on or before March 31.
The winter season starts in early January and runs until March. Games are played on Saturdays and/or weeknights. Practice times are up to the volunteer coach and are usually one hour once a week (5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.).
Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex offers tennis lessons for all ages and levels — monthly and drop-in clinics too.
The ball machine and backboards are now available for rent.

Esports tournaments
Surprise now offer Esports tournaments, which features games like Fortnite, Rocket League and others.
Users need to provide their own gaming console or PC and copy of the game. Check out surpriseaz.gov/3832/Youth-Esports for the latest tournament information.
