Resident Appreciation Days are back at Surprise Stadium this spring training season — one of several promotions the city of Surprise has announced for the 2023 season.

Surprise is preparing to host the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals in their first full spring training season since 2019 after two seasons of COVID-19 cancelations and restrictions and a owner’s lockout.

Games including all 15 Cactus League teams are scheduled between Feb. 24 and March 25.

Courtesy of soon-to-be-open fun center Fat Cats, Resident Appreciation Days are available from Feb. 24 through March 11. Surprise, Sun City, El Mirage and Waddell residents can get discounted ticket options of two baseline tickets for $20 for any “Classic” or “Standard” game on those dates.

College students are encouraged to spend their spring break at Surprise Stadium. Between March 5 and 19 (except March 7), a college ID will get somebody in for $7 in the outfield reserved section. Tickets must be purchased at the box office.

Sensory Awareness Day presented by T.E.A.M. 4 Kids has been scheduled for Feb. 26. Surprise Stadium and T.E.A.M. 4 Kids Surprise have teamed up to offer a more sensory-friendly ballpark experience.

Seating and a special ticket offer will be available in the designated sensory-sensitive lawn area. T.E.A.M. 4 Kids will provide sensory stations and a designated quiet area where attendees can take a break when needed.

Pup Nights is back at Surprise Stadium twice this spring (March 8 and 23). Fans can bring dogs to enjoy the game with other dogs and dog lovers from the pet-friendly lawn section. Each pup must have a “PUP” specific ticket ($5) to enter the ballpark.

Handlers/owners are limited to a maximum of one dog per paid “HANDLER” ticket ($8). Handlers must be 18 years or older. Participants must complete a waiver to bring a pup into Surprise Stadium. Event tickets are limited.

The Sunday Funday Family Four Pack returns every Sunday. For $44, fans get four lawn tickets, four drinks, four hot dogs and four popcorns.

Sundays are also the days for Kids Run the Bases presented by Uptown Alley. That’s when the youngest fans get to take the field and receive a special prize courtesy of Uptown Alley.

Military and First Responder Appreciation Days are also every Sunday with 50% off tickets for games on those days.

This offer includes tickets in the following sections: lower baseline, baseline, lower outfield and outfield reserved. There will be a special presentation of colors at each Sunday game. Limit of four tickets per transaction. For the discounted rate, show military I.D. or proof of eligibility at the box office or use promo code “MILITARY” online. Tickets are based on availability.

The Spring Training 5K and 1K presented by Palm Valley Pediatrics Dentistry and Orthodontics returns at 7 p.m. Friday, March 3.

Register by March 2 to take advantage of the $30 5K and $15 1K early registration rate.

Race participants will receive a buy one, get one free lawn seat voucher to a 2023 spring training game at Surprise Stadium. Excludes March 1, 4, 7 and 21.
