Surprise to discuss how to deal with legalized pot

City council agenda includes discussion on marijuana policy

The Surprise City Council will be discussing how it wants the city to handle marijuana sales if voters decided to make it legal recreationally at its next meeting.

The council is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. for a work session and 6 p.m. for a regular meeting Tuesday, Oct. 20 at City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza.

The marijuana discussion will come last at the work session.

The meetings will be partially open to in-person attendance with a maximum of 50 people, including staff members.

They can also be viewed via a live stream or broadcast of the meeting at surpriseaz.gov/surprisetv and the Surprise City Gov Facebook page at facebook.com/cityofsurprise.

Cox channel 11 and Century Link channel 8513 will also carry the meeting live.
